Cut & Paste

Cut and Paste is NYC's digital design competition. There are 3 rounds before the final round. In each round they are given 15 minutes to create a design that falls into a certain theme such as 'Oxymoron'. Four artists get on stage and their work is projected on the brick wall for everyone to see their work in progress. The only beef I had with the projectors was that they were too dark and you could barely see a design if it was dark, and please believe that Sean let the crew know, and yet they did nothing about it. Big surprise there. Guillermo's oxymoron was friendly fire, and although you can't see it very well it was a suicide bomber teddy bear. Sean had to leave one of his many trademarks. The next category was 'Anything George Bush'. Sean gave him this idea of using Irak and Roll, and it was too funny. Guillermo has mad skills, he was so fast, and worked with such ease, and most importantly won the whole contest. 'What goes around comes around" was the last round, and SEE! this is where I have a problem with the projector. The design was hott, but you couldn't tell cuz it was so dark. Regardless, he still won. Really into his work, and I was impressed at what he could accomplish in 15 minutes. The moment of truth and also a cool picture.
